FAQs

Calliope (pronounced ka-LIE-oh-pee) means "beautiful voice". In Greek mythology, Calliope (also spelt Kaliope or Kalliope) was the oldest and wisest of the Muses, as well as the most assertive. We take inspiration from this heroic and beautiful myth in bringing you Australian Calliope, the "beautiful voice" of the Australian bush!

However, we are not just about what you hear, we also hope to bring you a wealth of photos, figures and facts about the unique and wondrous flora and fauna which make up this great island continent.

We are also hoping to attract other writers/photographers/multi-media artists to contribute to the site - we can't pay and we can't promise instantaneous fame but if you have an interest in the flora and fauna of this great continent and want to contribute, please let us know!

We hope you enjoy our site half as much as we enjoy bringing it too you! Welcome!

Obviously, maintaining this site takes a lot of time and a bit of money. If you don't have the time but would like to contribute to this site on the money side, we appreciate your support and have setup a paypal account to accept donations.
